logo3_origHeld in conjunction with Calitzdorp’s annual Apricot Harvest, the Klein Karoo Landy Festival will give Landy owners a good excuse to visit and explore the breathtakingly-beautiful Karoo region and experience everything this quaint town has to offer.

Gamka River Safari Company_DSC0115 invites Land Rover enthusiasts from all over the world to join the Klein Karoo Land Rover festival in Calitzdorp, Western Cape, South Africa from 25 November to 27 November 2016.

Every year at November-end the Calitzdorp community celebrates the apricot harvest. This year, and in future it will be celebrated with Land Rover owners and enthusiasts from all over the country and abroad. 

This fun filled weekend promises to exceed the expectations of all visitors and participants.

The aim of this festival is to contribute to the economical growth of Calitzdorp and to showcase the beauty of this historic town in the heart of the Western Cape Wine Region nestled on the foothills of the rugged Swartberg mountains….Land Rover Country!

The main meeting and gathering place will be at the Calitzdorp Cellars in Calitzdorp. All visitors are requested to make use of accommodation and camping spots in and around Calitzdorp. In terms of accommodation , bookings are essential.

Exhibitors: On Friday and Saturday, an exclusive range of stalls selling camping and Land Rover accessories and products will be made available at the venue. 

Sponsorship Opportunities: We have different levels of sponsorship proposals, if you would like to get exposure for your business this is a golden opportunity.

Volunteer Opportunities: As anyone knows who plans a big event like this, it wouldn’t be successful without many volunteers helping out. A number of people have put their names forward offering to volunteer at the Festival and we appreciate all of their help. However, we need more volunteers. Please consider sharing your time and talents with us to make this Festival the best festival so far!  Whether it is an hour, or a day, or even more – WE NEED YOU! 25 November (Friday)

07:30             Exhibition setup

08:00             Breakfast for Exhibitors at the Look-Out Restaurant

10:00             Official Opening – Johan van Vreden, Motor Industry Ombudsman

11:00              Announcement – Oldest Land Rover present

12:00             Tyre Change competition

14:00             Tent Set-up competition

16:00             Bo-Plaas Road Challenge – Lets get dirty!

18:00             Dinner – Share in the Karoo Cuisine and our passion for food and wine at one of the local restaurants

19:30             Depart in convoy to meteor site. Star gazing and entertainment around huge bonfire.

26 November (Saturday) 

10:00             Convoy will assemble at Calitzdorp Cellar. A Land Rover count will be done.              

11:00             The convoy will depart:  Groenfontein, Red-Stone Hills Road Trip.

12:00            “Tug of War” at Marcia’s en-route

14:00            Depart – stop at Peter Bayly Winery, Oude Poskantoor Coffee Shop and the Roger Young Gallery in Kruisrivier. 

18:00            Join the Calitzdorp community in their celebration of the apricot harvest at the Calitzdorp Railway Station. Participants are welcome to join the Potjiekos competition and to take part in the activities on offer.

27 November (Sunday)

Our apricots are there for picking – make sure not to miss the opportunity. Venues will be advised. Also Boplaas and DeKrans wineries will be open for wine tasting. (Passengers only)
